Claydata® LLC's PuttyHealth™  Receives  ONC-ATCB Certification (USA)

Australian startup biotechnology firm Claydata® LLC have announced that their PuttyHealth™ v2.0: Secure Inpatient & Ambulatory EMR/EHR Telemedicine, Emergency & Aged Health Care Systems (known simply as PuttyHealth™) recently received the United States federal government's "meaningful use" stamp of approval by earning the Drummond Group's ONC-ATCB Certificate of Compliance, a stringent EHR industry-standard.

claydata ehr certTested under the Drummond Group's Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ONC-ATCB) program, the PuttyHealth™ EHR software was found to be 2011/2012 compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Furthermore, the designation officially deems the Claydata® PuttyHealth™ electronic health record (EHR) software capable of enabling providers in the U.S. to qualify for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

According to a spokesperson for Claydata®, "the certification comes as official validation. It demonstrates that our software can help providers take part in the e-health revolution that is remolding the global healthcare industry. The PuttyHealth™ system is our secret weapon, and when we share it with healthcare providers we're seeing that they quickly find themselves ideally positioned to leverage the benefits of comprehensive e-health measures using our software. These providers not only make significant care improvements but also achieve 'meaningful use' standards and thereby, in the U.S., qualify for incentive funds under ARRA. Overall, we're proud to introduce this truly revolutionary software to providers who perhaps feel that conventional EHR solutions have grown stagnant. We're glad to have received the Drummond Group's seal of approval – it's a real boost to the confidence we already feel when we say that this new development can really make an impact and improve care in the community."

Drummond Group's ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that EHRs meet the meaningful use criteria for either eligible provider or hospital technology. In turn, healthcare providers using the EHR systems of certified vendors are qualified to receive U.S. federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology - a key component of the federal government's push to improve clinical care delivery through the adoption and effective use of EHRs by U.S. healthcare providers.

PuttyHealth™, which met the requirements for the Drummond Group's ONC-ATCB designated standard 170.302 O-W, is an unusual blend of tried-and-trusted EHR architectures and cutting-edge networking technologies that Claydata® characterizes as the best of both worlds. "Healthcare providers are constantly telling us that they are sick of antiquated EHR solutions – bulky, expensive server technology that is inflexible and immobile – not least because of these systems' limited interoperability. In the new e-health regime, we're hearing that this isn't good enough. At Claydata® we've embraced the latest cloud-sourced networking technology without sacrificing security. And with a twist – users of the PuttyHealth™ system have full control of their data and the ability to customize their software experience. It's really one of a kind," says a Claydata® engineer. Getting healthcare providers up to speed as e-health roll-outs become standard without compromising the integrity of these sensitive systems is an imperative shared by certifying and regulatory bodies like the Drummond Group.

"The need to leverage information technology in the healthcare industry is huge – as the quality of care and efficiency benefits that come with computerization can really make a difference in the overall patient experience. We're ready to help transform the industry by providing the sophisticated software testing services that ensure that vendors and hospitals are offering systems that are capable of meeting the meaningful use standards required to obtain incentive funds as well as the rich functionality required to move the clinical care needle forward," says Rik Drummond, CEO of the Drummond Group. "We have been testing software for more than a decade and are ready to leverage our extensive experience handling sophisticated systems in complex industries as well as dealing with complicated technical issues such as interoperability and security."

Pint-sized e-health player launches a large-scale project: Australia's first private e-health network

While you might expect a small team of dedicated e-health developers to be deeply invested in the state of Australia’s public health with respect to health IT provisions, you would be forgiven for not expecting them to wash their hands of e-health orthodoxy and work to change the face of the industry.

But that’s just what Claydata have done. A small startup with big ambitions, Claydata have sculpted a novel e-health virus – of the useful, social kind – and have loosed it upon the world. And some half a million providers, medical enterprises and patients are set to discover the infectious benefits of this piece of engineering over the next five years.
